Der Nintendo e-Shop wurde vor fünf Jahren auf dem 3DS mit ein paar Virtual Console Spielen eingeführt. Danach entwickelte sich der Shop immer weiter und schon bald gab es auch Vollpreis-Titel digital über den Shop zu erwerben. Als die Wii U auf den Markt kam, wurde auch ihr ein Shop spendiert und heute kann man beinahe jedes Nintendo Spiel (egal ob für 3DS, Wii U oder alte Klassiker) über den Shop beziehen. Dass der e-Shop diese zeit überstanden hat und zu einem wichtigen Dreh- und Angelpunkt für Nintendo Fans wurde, feiert Nintendo mit kräftigen Rabatten auf ausgesuchte Spiele im Shop.
